Windows Shortcut Keys

First thing is to learn the shortcuts available by using a combination of keys. Most of the functions here work for all programs, some programs have further combinations.

CTRL + C
Copies the highlighted section
CTRL + X Cuts the highlighted section
CTRL + V Pastes the highlighted section
CTRL + F4 Closes the current file without closing the application
ALT + F4 Closes the current application
CTRL + P Print the actual page with default options
CTRL + S Save the actual file
CTRL + N Open a new file or window with the current application
CTRL + O Open an existing file
CTRL + Z Undo last action
CTRL + Y Redo last action

Most of the current keyboards have a Windows key and a Context key
Clicking on the Windows key brings up the Start menu
Clicking on the Context menu key is like right-clicking an object

WIN + E Opens the Windows Explorer
WIN + M Minimizes all Windows
WIN + R Opens the run box
WIN + D Shows the desktop
WIN + F Opens the Find Window
WIN + Pause Opens the System Properties Dialogbox
WIN + H Starts the Windows Help

 The Windows help files have a list of all the shortcuts available
